Elizabeth
(Beth) Mansfield, MSc, RD, is a Registered Dietitian,
CSEP-Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and sport nutrition
specialist. Beth has a Masters degree in the combined fields of
clinical nutrition, exercise physiology and lipid biochemistry.
She is a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certified Exercise
Physiologist, and an American College of Sports Medicine Fitness
Instructor and Personal Trainer. Beth also studied in Agricultural
Sciences, and has a degree in Animal Science, specializing in
animal nutrition. Beth is currently working on her PhD at McGill
University focusing on health and nutritional well-being of Canadian
women runners.
What Beth does:
- Beth integrates sport nutrition into training programs for
teams and athletes competing at the international, national,
provincial, regional levels.
- Beth applies training principles developed for sport performance
to business executives and workplace wellness programs in both
governmental and NGO sectors.
- Beth runs nutrition, weight management and sport nutrition
workshops through the Heart Health Education Centre of the University
of Ottawa Heart Institute
- Beth develops sport nutrition and conditioning programs for
the “equine athlete”
- Beth writes the sport nutrition for irun magazine, the running
magazine available at all Running Room stores throughout Canada
- Beth has a regular television segment the 1st Wednesday of
every month with Leanne Cusack on the CTV News at Noon.
